On Friday 22 April 2022 we will had our Spring 2022 meeting via Zoom. We covered our 2021/22 accomplishments, set agenda items for 2022/23, and voted on officers for Fall 2022-Spring 2024.
Shared Governance Presentation to the Faculty Senate
UT AAUP president made a presentation to the Faculty Senate on the theme of “Things Faculty Can do to Improve Shared Governance.” This presentation was based on a document created in response to our conversation at the Fall 2021 meeting.
Fall 2021 Meeting
On Friday 29 October 2021 we had our Fall 2021 meeting via Zoom. The meeting was on the topic “How can faculty unilaterally improved academic freedom and shared governance.” A lively discussion uncovered large areas of agreement. AAUP executive is working on a document to summarize these areas of agreement to provide to faculty.
UT AAUP Statement on HB233
To show support to our colleagues at public universities in the state of Florida and encourage a campus recording policy that is more accessible to faculty and students, UT AAUP presented a statement to the Faculty Senate on HB233 at the 23 April 2021 meeting.

UT AAUP is reborn
On 4 September 2020 current AAUP members at UT met to re-establish the chapter on campus and adopt bylaws. The national AAUP Council officially recognized us as an affiliate chapter at their November 2020 meeting.
